Spectacular meteor entering the Earth atmosphere over central Transylvania

On the morning of August the 5th, the M.O.R.O.I. system (Meteorites Orbits Reconstruction by Optical Imaging) detected a spectacular meteor entering the Earth atmosphere over central Transylvania. The event, recorded by Berthelot and Marisel stations, displayed an unusual triple flash toward the end of the trajectory marking the fragmentation and disintegration of the meteoroid. The entry was detected in real-time and an alert was emitted shortly after, thus validating  the infrastructure deployed by the Astronomical Institute in the framework of SPERO project.
